Sunset vibes with horses in Tucson

Let’s be honest: sunsets are pretty magical on their own, but they’re absolutely unbeatable from the back of a horse. Whether you are looking to create an unforgettable family memory or add the perfect romantic touch to a date night, a Tucson sunset horseback ride is the adventure for you!

This 1 hour experience includes the same benefits as the Linda Vista Trail Ride (suitable for all ages 6+ and beginner-friendly), but has been specifically-timed to include reaching a lookout point as the Tucson desert sunset comes alive over the surrounding mountains.

This sunset horseback ride is suitable for children and first-time riders, who will enjoy a meandering walk through the saguaro cacti, and soft hills outside Tucson, Arizona.

The sunset horseback ride leaves from the Corral at El Conquistador in Tucson, Arizona – only 30 minutes from downtown Tucson!

After a fun discussion about horses and their role in Tucson’s history, you will be helped onto your trusty steed and wranglers will teach you the basics of communicating with your horse: go, stop, left and right – it’s easier than you think!

Then, you and your fellow adventurers will set out as a group on this 30-minute sunset horseback ride to watch the sky reflect brilliant colors over the mountains of the Pusch Ridge Wilderness area.

Tucson’s sunsets are brilliant, thanks in part to our other favorite desert friend – dust. This means that typically, a breezy day will lead toa brilliant sky. Orange, red, purple, and sometimes cotton-candy colors make the black mountains and silhouettes of cactus stand out in sharp relief along the miles of horizon! It truly is a sight to behold and one to make a memory out of.

Joining our 1 hour sunset horseback ride is based on your ability to get on the horse with our instruction, and your willingness to follow direction on the trail. If you think you can do those things, we’ll take care of the rest!

Sunset at the Corral

Although we have tried, we do not have control over the setting and rising of the sun. Therefore, the Sunset ride is only available once a day within a very tight timeframe. If the evening ride is simply not going to fit into your schedule, you should know that the Corral at El Conquistador by Tattered Saddle does offer several other horseback adventures throughout the day.

  • Our most popular ride, the “Linda Vista Trail Ride”, is a great, beginner-friendly way to experience the Tucson scenery. This 1-hour, horseback riding experience is great for anyone aged 6+ and will please everyone in your party.
  • For those who get a lot of enjoyment out of bonding with and pampering their horse, the “Scratch and Ride” is a great experience. Available only in the mornings, this beginner-friendly Tucson horseback ride has an extra half-hour built in to allow you to groom and saddle your mount before we even get out of the stable! Don’t know how to do any of these things? No problem! We’ll teach you everything.
  • If you’re seeking something to challenge your ability, our “Pusch Ridge Advanced Horseback Ride” will test your skill. This hour and a half horseback ride climbs a steep mountain trail and unveils remarkable views of the Tucson Valley and the surrounding mountains.
